English Drama School Auditioning in Australia
English Drama School Auditioning in Australia
(PRWEB) October 21, 2004
Due to the response from potential applicants in Brisbane and Melbourne, Rose Bruford College has announced it will be holding auditions in Melbourne on Wednesday the 24th of November and Brisbane on Friday November the 26th for it’s full range of theatre and digital arts courses.
Deadline for Australian applications is 31st of October.
RBC is one of the top five English drama schools and itÂs graduates include many big names such as Gary Oldman (“Harry Potter”, “Nil by Mouth”, “The Fifth Element”).
RBC has had a long tradition of training Australians and will be the only drama college making the trip over to specifically audition in Australia in 2004.
ÂWe want to talk to our applicants face to face, said RBC spokesperson Paul Osuch. ÂItÂs a bit unrealistic to expect people to fly over to the U.K to have an audition and then fly back to Australia and wait to find out if they have to fly back again.Â
Also, since the academic year in the U.K. starts in September successful auditionees have plenty of time after the November auditions to prepare themselves for the move to the U.K.
This year has also been a watershed year for Australian students at RBC. This year alone, second year student Claire Bocking (from Canberra) took out the prestigious Lawrence Olivier award, third year directing student Andrew Miller (from Brisbane) was assistant directing the workshops for the ÂLord of The Rings musical and Rosamund Stephens (from Melbourne) scored a role in the upcoming adaptation of ÂPride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly and Judi Dench.
ÂA lot of applicants are concerned that they wonÂt be able to get work in England because they are Australian, but Andrew and Rosamund have definitely proved that is not the case in the biggest possible way. People like Emma Skelton (The Sleepover Club) have proven you can come back and work in Australia as well.Â
The college offers the highest standard in training for the professions of the theatre, from three year degrees in acting, directing, through to theatre design and practical one year MA courses where students specialise in the area of their choosing.
Potential applicants are requested to email Rose Bruford College on paul.osuch@bruford.ac.uk for a prospectus and application/audition information.

Thank you for another essential article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a complete way of writing? I have a presentation incoming week, and I am on the lookout for such information.
