Is It Too Little Too Late For UK Education Reform?

Many Brits become complacent when considering learning foreign languages as opportunities are missed for jobs in the European Union.
Learning a foreign language for GCSE students is still not compulsory and may be hampering opportunities for further study and learning another language. Studies show that students taking language GCSEs has fallen from 61% in 2005 to 44% in 2010.
In Canada there is a growth of interest in students looking to learn a foreign language. Mandarin Chinese and Spanish are becoming popular, two of the world’s most spoken languages.
Michael Gove who is secretary of state for Education in the UK wants a ‘risky’ reform to the school system, but is this too little too late?

Aw, this was a really great post. In theory I’d like to write like this also – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.
