Sankofa International, Inc. (Sankofa) Awards Two Scholarships Under the New National Scholarship Program in Ghana – West Africa

On June 14, 2011, Patrick Affum (Northern Region) and Emmanuel Prempeh Junior (Ashanti Region), were selected, through a random public drawing, to receive full scholarships, both at the university level. Patrick, a 200 Level, Applied Chemistry student at the University for Development Studies in Tamale (Northern Region), receives a full scholarship for Levels 300 and 400. Emmanuel recently graduated from Kumasi Academy Senior High School and is awaiting WASSE results. A full four year scholarship awaits him. Scholarships include school fees, books, accommodations, and pocket money.                                                                    

On June 23, 2011, an orientation meeting was held for the scholarship recipients and family to discuss scholarship details.

The next registration cycle (Registration Cycle 2) begins September 16-18, in Accra. The complete registration scheduled can be viewed at http://www.sankofaintl.org

Individuals must register to have the opportunity to be selected for a full scholarship at the level of their choosing. The levels are Junior High, Senior High, and Tertiary, including advance degrees. Scholarships also include vocational and technical schools. The registration fee is 30 Ghana Cedis.

The Scholarship Program is managed by Sankofa, based in Washington, D.C., and Sankofa International Youth Ghana, a registered non-governmental organization in Ghana. Sankofa has been awarding full scholarships in Ghana since 2002.
